The Design Consultation is an in-home working session where we explore your space, your goals, and how you want your home to feel. This is an opportunity to gain clarity, direction, and professional insight before making significant decisions.

Many clients come to me feeling uncertain about their style, overwhelmed by options, or stuck between competing ideas. During our time together, we refine your vision, address challenges, and establish a clear path forward.

Following the consultation, you receive a detailed summary outlining recommendations and next steps. From there, we determine whether a full-service decorating project or a focused styling engagement is the right fit.

She helped us finally make use of a bunch of art we’d been storing in a closet for years—now it’s all beautifully displayed on a gallery wall that’s become the focal point of the room. Every project begins in your home. During this working session, we explore how you use your space, what is no longer serving you, and what you envision for the future. This is where we uncover your style and establish a foundation for the project.

Concept & Budget Development

With a solid foundation in place, I translate our conversations into a thoughtful design direction tailored to your project. Through curated imagery, spatial planning, and mood boards, you begin to see how your home can evolve. Investment expectations and scope are thoughtfully outlined so you can move forward with confidence.

Design Refinement

This is where the vision takes shape. Furnishings, materials, textures, and meaningful details are thoughtfully selected and presented in a way that allows you to fully experience the transformation before it begins. We refine together, ensuring every choice feels considered and intentional.

Procurement & Coordination

Once the design is approved, I manage the details behind the scenes. Orders are placed, timelines are tracked, and everything is coordinated on your behalf. My role is to protect the integrity of the design while creating a seamless experience for you.

Installation & Reveal

Your project is meticulously brought to life. Furnishings are installed, accessories are styled, and the space is thoughtfully composed. We walk through your home together, taking in the transformation and celebrating a space that now feels entirely your own.

COMMON QUESTIONS

  • A consultation is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and to get a better understanding of your project. We brainstorm ideas and solutions and share a fresh perspective. Many clients book a stand alone consultation to jump start a project. We can also tackle smaller design inquiries like paint selection, gallery wall curation and finish selections.

  • Decorating is a full service, start to finish design for an entire room or home. Everything from space planning to wall treatments and accessories. Styling is adding the finishing touches to a space that is almost complete and just needs those pieces and styling to make it really sing!

  • It really depends on the scope of the project! A full decorating project with custom furniture can take up to 6 months, depending on lead times. Remember, good things come to those who wait!

  • My goal is always for you to feel reflected in your home, which is why we focus on building our relationship first. Through this collaboration, I get to know your lifestyle, preferences, and the story behind your space. From there, I guide the design process while keeping your vision at the center, ensuring the final result feels personal, thoughtful, and truly yours.

  • Yes! While DAW Interiors specializes in interior decorating, we love to be involved in the renovation phase as well. Working together early in the process allows us to make thoughtful decisions about finishes, colour palettes, and overall design direction so the finished space feels cohesive, intentional, and aligned with the vision for your home.
